2017: A Landmark Floating Dock Loading Operation
Our operational history with Colonna’s Shipyard and Sedef Shipyard dates back to the first successful project in 2017. As the appointed agent, ID Shipping Agency managed the complex logistics for the first Floating Dock, which measured 181 meters in length and 41 meters in width.
This high-precision technical operation took place at the Tuzla Anchorage Area under special permits. The process involved the piggyback loading of the floating dock onto Cosco Shipping’s Semi-submersible Heavy Lift Vessel. Our team ensured seamless coordination between port authorities, the shipyard, and the carrier, guaranteeing a safe and timely departure for its voyage to the United States.
The 2027 Project: Engineering on a Grand Scale
The new floating dock currently under construction at Sedef Shipyard is a testament to the advanced engineering capabilities of Turkish shipyards. The technical specifications of this 212-meter giant are:
- Length Overall (LOA): 212.00 m
- Breadth: 43.50 m
- Lifting Capacity: 23,500 Tons
- Classification: Bureau Veritas (BV)
Building on the field experience we gained during the 2017 operation, we have significantly expanded our operational network. As the delivery of this massive structure approaches in 2027, we are fully prepared to provide expert agency services, survey coordination, and logistics management to bridge this project once again from Türkiye to American shores.
