ID Shipping Agency Sponsors SHIPROUTE ’26 in Istanbul
ID Shipping Agency was proud to sponsor Shipping Route Istanbul 2026 (SHIPROUTE ’26), supporting an international gathering that brought approximately 650 maritime industry representatives together in Istanbul on 8 October 2026.
Organised by the Turkish Coaster Owners and Operators Association (KOSDER), with the support of the Turkish Chamber of Shipping (IMEAK DTO), the conference welcomed shipowners, operators, ship agents and maritime professionals for a day of discussion, networking and collaboration. Germany participated as the guest country, highlighting the strong maritime connections between Türkiye and Germany.
For ID Shipping Agency, sponsoring SHIPROUTE ’26 was an opportunity to contribute to the industry we serve and strengthen relationships within the international shipping community.
A Shared Agenda for International Shipping
Hosted by KOSDER President Neslihan Torlak, SHIPROUTE ’26 explored the challenges shaping maritime trade through three main sessions: geopolitical developments, maritime finance, and green energy and digitalisation.
Discussions addressed the impact of geopolitical tensions on shipping routes, operational planning and seafarer welfare. The importance of cooperation between industry stakeholders and public authorities was a recurring theme, reflecting the need for reliable coordination in a changing trading environment.

The maritime finance session examined access to capital, risk management and the long-term investment required for fleet renewal and energy transition. Speakers considered how shipowners and operators can build resilience while responding to evolving commercial conditions.
The final session focused on green energy and digitalisation, including the industry’s experience with EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime. Participants discussed the practical challenges of reducing emissions, adopting new technologies and developing the infrastructure needed to support shipping’s transition.
Strengthening Maritime Relationships in Istanbul

SHIPROUTE ’26 provided a valuable setting for exchanging perspectives and building relationships across the maritime sector. With participants from Türkiye, Germany and other international shipping markets, the event underlined Istanbul’s role as a meeting point for global maritime business.
As a ship agency serving vessels in Türkiye, ID Shipping Agency values opportunities to connect with the people behind international shipping operations. Strong communication and dependable local coordination are essential to the services we provide, from shipyard calls in Tuzla and Yalova to port calls and Turkish Straits transit.
Our sponsorship reflects our commitment to supporting industry dialogue and developing lasting relationships with shipowners, operators and maritime partners.
A Memorable Evening with the Shipping Community
Following the conference, the cocktail reception and gala dinner gave participants the opportunity to continue their conversations in a welcoming atmosphere. The evening concluded with a live performance by Ezgi Alaş, bringing a memorable close to the programme.
We thank KOSDER, the Turkish Chamber of Shipping, the speakers and everyone involved in organising SHIPROUTE ’26. It was a pleasure to support an event that brought the international maritime community together in Istanbul.
