7/24 Waste Collection Service in Istanbul is provided by ISTAC

We collect wastes 7/24 with our 10 waste reception ships (Annex-1 and Annex-IV), 3 waste reception ships (Annex-V) and 3 waste reception land tankers (Annex-1 and Annex-IV)

Below is the waste we collect from the vessels:

                           Shipboard originated wastes

• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-I, oil and oil drived wastes           (bilge,sludge, waste oil, dirty ballast, etc.)
• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-IV sewage,
• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-V garbage and marine debris.

                                         Other Wastes

• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-I slop oil
• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-II noxious liquid substances
• - Marpol 73/78 Annex-V garbage and marine debris (packaging, storage, lashing, and lashing equipment)

We process for dewatering and treating Marpol 73/78 Annex-I oil and oil-derived wastes in our Haydarpaşa Port Reception Facility and recycle them for the economy. Marpol 73/78 Annex-V garbage and debris are eliminated in Kemerburgaz, Odayeri, and Kömürcüoda sanitary landfills safely. As for Marpol 73/78 Annex-IV Sewage, they are collected through water treating system connected to ISKI collector and received by the closest treating site. These are treated by cutting edge technology sites of ISKI and recycled without harming nature.
